Advice and Support for Parents
It’s not easy being a parent – even at the best of times. Take a credit crunch, rising unemployment and add some frustrated children into the mix, and you could have a recipe for disaster. If you need support or advice, there are some good organisations in Kilburn who can help you with parenting.
Seed of Hope Family Organisation
Seed of Hope Family Organisation (SOHFO) helps local residents to understand how important it is to build a positive family around their children. Happy families make for happy children; happy children find it far easier to make that transition from childhood to adulthood – without too many of the tricky teenager bits. A balanced child will not only make more of his/her talents, but is far more likely to make a good contribution to the community. This, in turn, will help to promote community cohesion.
SOHFO delivers guidance and support to residents and helps families to develop strategies and techniques that gradually improve their parenting skills. Parents get closer to their children and understand them better. This enables parents to identify and address negative behaviour before it takes hold. The knock-on effect can have a profound impact on the child, the family and the community.
