The Master Plan
In 2009 the Council revised the South Kilburn Masterplan. The revisions to the Masterplan focus on enabling the regeneration of South Kilburn to continue on a phase by phase basis. This approach allows the Council to work with a number of partners to deliver the Masterplan and provides greater flexibility in terms of funding the programme. The revised strategy is set out in a new phasing plan (below).
South Kilburn Regeneration Project
The housing regeneration of South Kilburn aims to deliver 1200 new high quality homes. If funding can be sourced this will include improved open spaces, new shops and a new consolidated school.
South Kilburn's regeneration is taking place in phases. For Phase One, four sites have been developed that will provide 264 homes. The council is designing five further sites to complete the delivery of Phase One.

Transformation of the South Kilburn Estate is essential for the long term regeneration and development of the environment and the community. The area's housing stock needs significant renewal, and there is a need to replace some of the worst stock with new build housing. More homes are also required to accommodate our increasing population.
Underpinning this transformation is our vision to reconnect South Kilburn to its surrounding neighbourhoods by providing a range of high quality, mixed tenure homes. This will mark the end of the municipal housing estate. Many of the tower blocks will be removed, and replaced with high quality, medium rise flats with generous space standards. The existing park will be expanded and there will a new primary school located at one end. A new health centre will be provided and new sports facilities will be introduced into the neighbourhood.
The first of these is a new community sports hall, provided in partnership with St Augustine's School on a site opposite Kilburn Park Tube Station. We will create a new heart for South Kilburn, but at the same time encourage local communities to be outward facing in order to make use of the many facilities, amenities and opportunities around the fringes of the area.

A planning application for 28 new affordable homes has been approved and Network Housing Group will develop the site. Gordon House has been demolished and construction is now well under way.
